A total of nine health care providers on Long Island are getting high marks from a watchdog organization.
They include St. Francis Hospital, NYU Langone and Stony Brook Southampton and six Northwell hospitals. The Northwell hospitals include Glen Cove Hospital, Huntington Hospital, Mather Hospital, Peconic Bay Medical Center, Plainview Hospital and South Shore University Hospital.
All nine hospitals received an “A” safety grade from the independent national watchdog organization the Leapfrog Group.
The grades are based on hospital’s performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections, and other arm to patients.
