Newark police search for man accused of following, attacking young woman near bus stop
According to the Newark Police Department, a female victim was attacked around 1:30 a.m. in front of her home on Leslie Street. The incident was captured on video via a doorbell camera.

Newark police are asking for the public's help identifying a man accused of following a young woman home and attacking her outside her apartment.
Police released surveillance video of the assault, which happened the morning of Sept. 18 on Leslie Street.
Investigators say the victim had just gotten off a bus after work and was walking home when the suspect followed her. Police say he attacked her and punched her several times outside her apartment building.
The woman fought back and screamed, causing the suspect to run away, according to police.
The suspect is described as a Black male with locs who was wearing blue shorts and a black tank top.
Neighbors in the area said they were disturbed by the incident, noting they did not recognize the suspect.
"There's only a few neighbors I really speak to a whole lot just because they're all in and out," said one resident.
Another neighbor told News 12 the incident hits close to home.
"I have children that go to school here. I live here. I come home right around the same time," she said. "I've never seen the guy before."
Police have not released additional details about the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Newark police.
