A 43-year-old East Patchogue man is accused of taking photos from social media and using artificial intelligence to turn them into child sexual abuse images.
Police said Nicholas Zavesky was arrested Thursday after investigators found more than 50 child sexual abuse images following a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
According to investigators, detectives executed a search warrant at Zavesky’s Knot Street home on Aug. 13 and seized multiple electronic devices.
Police say the devices contained dozens of images depicting child sexual abuse that had been artificially edited using AI after being sourced from social media.
Zavesky is charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child.
