STORM WATCH UPDATE: RAIN ENDS THIS EVENING

Rain and thunderstorms have been off and on all day across Long Island with the hardest hit areas in eastern Suffolk County as expected. Slick travel is all over Nassau and Suffolk Counties though due to wet roads and wet leaves making conditions a bit more slippery. The last push of steady rain is moving from west to east across Long Island now. Most of Long Island will begin to dry out before 11 p.m., but the East End can still see showers through shortly after midnight.

So, while the worst of today's rain is behind us, just use caution traveling tonight as it is tougher to see where standing water is during night and visibility can still be low at times until the scattered rain completely ends.
