Vehicle crashes into Port Washington liquor store

An SUV drove through a building in Nassau County just after midnight on Thursday morning.
The Port Washington Fire Department was dispatched to a crash involving a vehicle into a building at 12:15 a.m. at the intersection of Shore Road and Manhasset Avenue.
Assistant Chief Patrick Saccoccia, who was first on scene, confirmed the Mercedes had gone through the window of Black Tie Wine & Spirits.
The sole occupant of the vehicle had self-extricated prior to the fire department’s arrival, was evaluated by EMS and released.
An entire window on the side of the structure was shattered and damage could be seen inside of the business, as well.
The Village Building Inspector responded to assess the building and ensured there were no additional hazards.
