A 22-year-old Riverhead mother is safe with her baby girl after giving birth inside a parked SUV along County Road 51 in Eastport.

Suffolk County police say a 911 call made around 4 a.m. said the mom-to-be was in labor in the passenger seat of a parked Nissan Pathfinder.

Seventh Precinct Officer Amanda Brisson arrived on scene and helped prepare the woman for delivery while still inside the SUV.

Soon after, East Moriches Rescue Paramedic Steven Diamantopoulos and EMT Ben Cohen took over the scene and successfully helped the woman into delivering a baby girl, police say.

Both mom and her newest passenger were both taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in good condition, adding a happy ending to an unforgettable early-morning arrival.
