New Jersey was quite lucky in dodging the storm threat today. Most of the severe weather is staying to our north and showers are to our south. There is still an opportunity for a renegade storm to show up through late this evening. The chance is small but not zero.
Tonight is partly cloudy. It will feel stuffy for the first half of the forecast. The storm chance diminishes as a cold front slides across the area much later tonight. This will force the muggy weather that has enveloped the region today back south towards the mid-Atlantic area. Nighttime lows will be a bit above average, but it will feel more comfortable.
Friday is looking pretty nice for most of the region. It's possible there could be a few showers lingering in southern New Jersey through mid-afternoon. Otherwise, morning clouds will eventually clear. The sun will come out. A comfortable westerly breeze will help temperatures to climb back to the mid 80s for high temperatures.
The weather looks wonderful for the weekend. Sunny skies and seasonable temperatures for both Saturday and Sunday are expected.
