East Hampton Town considering law to limit local police's role in federal civil immigration enforcement

East Hampton Town police arrested a Riverhead man who they say sexually assaulted another man while he was sleeping Sunday afternoon inside a Montauk home.

Detectives say 29-year-old Maurilio Cardona Trujillo was visiting the victim's roommate when he entered the victim's room without permission and sexually assaulted him.

Police responded to the scene after they were notified.

Cardona Trujillo was charged with rape.

He was being held at East Hampton Town Police Department Headquarters as of Sunday night.

Cardona Trujillo is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at East Hampton Town Justice Court.
