The NYPD has confirmed that the Brooklyn North Narcotics module has been disbanded following a violent arrest.
The arrest of Timothy Brown last Tuesday was captured on video, prompting officials to investigate.
The video shows two officers punching and kicking Brown repeatedly in what police say was a drug operation. It was later revealed that the officers had arrested the wrong man.
Police say the entire Brooklyn North Narcotics module involved in the operation, including the captain, has been disbanded and transferred.
Following the initial incident, the officers in the video and a sergeant were placed on modified duty.
Six detectives, a lieutenant, and the captain overseeing the team have all been transferred.
