A 23-year-old Selden man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to multiple charges in connection with a deadly crash in Hicksville that killed two teenage girls on Jan. 23.

Frank Labidi is charged with two counts of manslaughter and two counts of assault, stemming from the crash on West Old Country Road last Friday.

Court documents reveal Labidi was driving more than 80 mph - more than twice the posted speed limit - when he lost control of his vehicle. Prosecutors say Labidi crossed into oncoming traffic, spun out and slammed into a tree and a building.

Lindsey Parke and Alexa Duryea, both 19, were killed in the crash.

Prosecutors say the crash was not an accident, calling Labidi’s actions reckless and deadly.

They pointed to social media posts that they said showed Labidi engaged in high-speed street racing and claimed he had no intention of braking. Prosecutors also say a safety feature designed to protect passengers was manually disabled.

“This was somebody who just was irresponsible with a high-powered car and no regard for any of the families,” said Edward Parke, Lindsey Parke’s father.

Labidi’s attorney says his client suffered a concussion in the crash and does not remember what happened.

A judge set bail at $500,000 cash or a $1.25 million bond.

Parke said Labidi and the teens had been hanging out at an arcade earlier that night and described Labidi as a new "friend."

Labidi is scheduled to return to court on Feb. 3.
