Family held visitations and a memorial service Wednesday for volunteer firefighter Lindsey Rose Park who was killed in a car crash last week.

“She lights up every room she walks into and touches everybody's heart,” said Annette Sitzman Parke, Lindsey’s mother. “And she didn't deserve this. She didn't deserve it.”

“I’m a father, and I can say my daughter is great and excellent, but she truly was. She truly was,” said Edward Parke, Lindsey’s father.

Lindsey was a Levittown volunteer firefighter and an EMT. Her family says she loved to bake, cook, and do arts and crafts.

“She was so strong. She took pride in everything she did from washing her car to bedazzling every gemstone on a shirt,” said Timothy Sitzman, Lindsey’s older brother.

Her family says, most of all, she wanted to help others.

“She wanted to be an FDNY firefighter,” said Haley Parke, Lindsey’s older sister. “And own a bakery called Rosie's Cupcakes… She was a beautiful girl inside and out.”

Her family says Lindsey made a big impact in her community. That impact could be seen through the hundreds of people who came to pay their respects.

Kim Sawyer, a firefighter with the Brookhaven fire department, didn’t know Lindsey personally, but she drove 50 miles to support her fellow female firefighter.

“We’re a brotherhood. We’re a sisterhood,” Sawyer said. “And it was very important to come tonight and pay my respects to someone who lost their life so tragically.”

The family says they’re looking for justice for their baby girl.

“She cared about everyone. She cared about everything she did. Everything she stood for,” Timothy Sitzman said. “She was amazing. She was proud to be Lindsey Rose.”
