Work is set to get underway again on a wind project off the coast of Long Island that had been paused by the Trump administration.

A federal judge granted a preliminary injunction to Empire Wind Thursday.

The project is located near Jones Beach and roughly 13 miles off Long Island’s south shore.

Empire Winds and Sunrise Wind, which is off the coast of Montauk, were both paused last month.

The two projects were expected to generate enough electricity to power more than 1 million homes and were scheduled to begin operations around 2027.

The company that owns Sunrise Wind is waiting for a hearing to be set on its appeal.
