A car crashed through the front of a laundromat Saturday afternoon in East Northport.

Suffolk County police said it happened on Larkfield Road just after 12:35 p.m.

Laundromat owner Miguel Velez said a customer accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes, driving her car through the glass windows at the front of the store.

Velez said police came to get the woman out of the vehicle.

There were no injuries.

“I was in my office when I heard the crash and the building shook,” Velez said. “Then when I went outside, I saw that car halfway inside my laundromat. So the police got the lady out. And I said to the lady, 'this is a laundromat, not a car wash.'”

Velez said the woman stayed and finished her laundry after the accident.

The front of the store was boarded up Saturday evening, but the laundromat was able to stay open for business after the incident.
