A powerful storm swept across Long Island, leaving widespread destruction in its wake—from crushed vehicles in residential neighborhoods to massive tree loss at an East End horse farm.

In Commack, a large tree was snapped in half by fierce winds and came crashing down on two parked cars outside the home of Michael Lamparillo and his wife, Camille Pesce.

"I heard this crunch. And I looked out the window, and I saw the bottom of the tree was cut in half," Lamparillo said.

Both vehicles—one belonging to Michael and the other to Camille—were damaged in the incident.

"I have to buy two new cars. One for her, one for me. So this is an expense we didn’t plan on," he added.

Fortunately, the tree narrowly missed their home, and no one was injured.

The storm’s destructive power was also felt at Sundance Stables in Manorville, where dozens of trees were brought down in minutes.

"It’s like a bulldozer went through and cut a clear swath," said farm owner Eric Weissbard. "There’s got to be 30 or 40 trees... one on top of another."

Despite the damage, none of the horses or staff were hurt.
