Several Long Island beaches are off limits to swimming due to elevated bacteria levels, officials say.

In Nassau County, the following beaches are closed off to swimming: Sea Cliff Village Beach, Tappen Beach, Lattingtown Beach, North Hempstead Beach Park, Morgan Sound and Pryibil Beach.

In Suffolk County, there is no swimming allowed at Valley Grove Beach and Ronkonkoma Town Beach.

Officials say the high bacteria levels are from Thursday's rain.

Health officials say the beaches will reopen when the bacteria levels go down.
