Orangetown police tell News 12 an investigation found mechanical issues were the reason a truck fire started -which then led to a fuel spill on Tuesday morning.

It happened on Ramland Road in the Orangeburg area.

News 12 got exclusive video from the Orangeburg Fire Department of volunteer firefighters putting out flames that engulfed the truck cab.

Fire officials say the driver was not hurt and first noticed smoke and then flames when driving.

First responders say the truck then leaked diesel fuel.

Rockland county hazmat used a sandy material and hose to suck up the spill which ran down the street.

News 12 was told that environmental agencies from New York and New Jersey were notified. News 12 is waiting for a response from them.
