One person is dead in a car fire in Hastings-on-Hudson, according to police.
They say it happened in a parking lot just before 5:50 p.m.
Fire crews say when they arrived on the scene, a Hyundai was engulfed in flames. An 82-year-old unidentified person was inside the vehicle.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"We saw like billowing smoke and flames shooting up out of the corner of the parking lot over here so we were like, oh my god," said Chris Koch.
No word yet on what caused the fire. Emergency crews don't believe any suspicious activity occurred.
The incident is under investigation.
