The Patchogue man accused of dismembering a woman’s body and scattering her remains has pleaded guilty.

According to court records, Gary Cowell, 72, confessed to concealing a human corpse and tampering with evidence.

Cowell was with Yvette Leonard before she died and used an axe to cut the 56-year-old woman’s body into pieces.

Cowell then scattered her remains along Montauk Highway.

Cowell is expected to be sentenced next month.
