Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman stood with Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder to announce the arrest of a 27-year-old for who is accused of raping a 5-year-old girl.

According to police, Wilson Castillo Diaz allegedly committed the crime on Oct. 16.

Police say the suspect was in the United States illegally since he entered at the age of 16 back in 2014.

“This 27-year-old man did not wake up one day and say ‘I am going to rape a 5-year-old girl’, so we believe there are more victims out there," said Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder.

Police are encouraging other potential victims to come forward.
