2-year-old girl struck, killed by driver in Monsey

The toddler is the fifth child in Rockland County to be fatally struck by a driver since the beginning of 2024.

A 2-year-old girl was killed Monday after she was struck by a minivan.

The toddler is the fifth child in Rockland County to be fatally struck by a driver since the beginning of 2024.

Ramapo police tell News 12 the accident occurred on Calvert Drive just after 3 p.m. Monday.

The child was hit by the driver of a 2014 Honda Odyssey minivan andwas rushed to Nyack Hospital, where she later died.

Police say the driver of the minivan is a 21-year-old from Monsey and was not injured in the accident. They say the driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with investigators. As of now, no criminal charges have been filed. The accident remains under investigation.
