A domestic disturbance Friday at a Levittown home ended with a man being arrested for burglary and assault, according to police.

Authorities say 46-year-old Dashawn Thompkins unlawfully entered the woman's residence and got into a verbal argument with her.

Police say Thompkins became violent when officers arrived at the scene of the incident.

Officers were forced to use a taser on him before taking him into custody, according to authorities.

One officer sustained an injury to his hand and was hospitalized for treatment.

Authorities say the charges against Thompkins include burglary, criminal contempt, assault and resisting arrest.

The investigation also found that he violated an order of protection.
