The Long Beach City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to start their beach season earlier.

The vote comes days after a teen was shot near the train station following a gathering of thousands of teens on the beach.

Following that chaos, the city started enforcement of beach passes seven days a week. Normally, this would not happen until June 27.

The council says they will now be starting their beach season earlier moving forward.
