A former NYPD officer charged in the deadly shooting of a Farmingdale man was acquitted of two homicide counts, according to attorney Anthony LaPinta.

Errick Allen was convicted of a misdemeanor menacing charge and was released from custody, LaPinta says.

Prosecutors had argued that Allen shot his childhood best friend Chrisopher Curro in May 2020.

Allen was facing life in prison if he was convicted of the homicide charges.
