Commack High School is converting a classroom into a finance lab resembling the New York Stock Exchange floor.

All students will be required to take a financial literacy course as a prerequisite for graduation.

"We have this vision here to ensure that every senior who graduates from the Commack School District is financially literate and that they understand how money works in the world," says Commack schools superintendent Jordan Cox.

The program will teach students about credit card debt, college loans, mortgages and retirement and investment accounts.

The course is set to begin in 2025.
