Democrat Tom Suozzi will face off against Republican Mazi Melesa Pilip in a special election for George Santos' seat.

Pilip publicly made her announcement Friday, saying she is the example of the American dream.

She is a two-term Nassau County legislator, mother of seven and served in the Israeli Defense forces before coming to the country.

Suozzi held the same seat he is seeking before Santos was elected. He also served a term as Nassau County executive.

He says he will work with anybody who wants to work together to to solve problems.

Voters will decide who is going to represent the 3rd Congressional District on Feb. 13, 2024.
