Authorities say the encounters took place in public parks, and inside an empty school bus on school grounds.

Sperl allegedly started messaging the student when she was 15 years old, first through an application used to communicate assignments, and later by cellphone. Prosecutors say he repeatedly requested that she send him intimate photos and videos.

Sperl is charged with seven counts of felony rape, seven counts of criminal sex act, one count of endangering the welfare of a child and five counts of sexual abuse.
