Police: Man shot outside North Amityville firehouse

A man suffered injuries that were not life-threatening in what authorities are investigating as a targeted shooting.

Authorities said a man was shot Monday night in front of the North Amityville firehouse.

The shooting happened around 10:50 p.m. at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Broadway in Amityville, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.

The man, who was not identified, was transported to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.

First Squad detectives are investigating the shooting. No arrests were immediately reported.
