Police say two people were injured following a crash on the Long Island Expressway Sunday night.

According to police, the crash happened on the eastbound side between Exits 49 and 50 in Melville around 9 p.m.

Police say the small SUV veered off the road, hit a sign and overturned.

The man and woman inside were taken to the hospital but are expected to be OK.
