Two people have been found dead on a boat on Fire Island.

Police say they were found Sunday afternoon in Cherry Grove, behind Cherry's on the Bay Restaurant and Bar.

It is believed they were overcome by carbon monoxide, but autopsies will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Their identities have not been released.
