At least 5 LI school districts to be closed Thursday over coronavirus concerns

With a total of 34 confirmed coronavirus cases across Long Island, two school districts closed Wednesday and even more are due to be closed Thursday.
It has been a week of waiting and worrying for parents and students across the Island.
The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District announced it will be closed once again Thursday after a staff member contracted the virus. District officials say they are continuing a deep cleaning of its buildings.
The Jericho School District announced it will be closed on Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13.
Sag Harbor Union Free School District announced Wednesday night that schools will be closed from Thursday, March 12 through Sunday, March 22. The district says it has no confirmed cases of the virus. Faculty and staff will report to their schools Thursday and Friday to "further develop learning opportunities for students to access while school is not in session."
St. Anthony's High School will be closed on Thursday, March 12, and Friday, March 13. During that time, the building will be cleaned and sanitized.
Greenport Union Free School District also announced it will close Thursday and Friday, despite having no confirmed coronavirus cases.
West Islip schools will be closed Thursday after a district employee tested positive for the coronavirus
"I think it will be helpful to close it all, just because to prevent anything, because it seems once we get to the point where people are being diagnosed, then panic sets in," says Katy Ball.
Classes were canceled Wednesday in the Mount Sinai School District, but school sports were not. Parents tell News 12 Long Island they were told by district officials there had been a third-party contact with someone who had the coronavirus.
The Locust Valley and Glen Cove school districts reopened Wednesday after being closed Tuesday for cleaning. Both districts reported a bus driver for the school may have the virus.
In the Westbury School District, officials say one family is under mandatory quarantine after coming in contact with someone who has the virus.
