2 Long Island high school seniors named finalists in Regeneron Science Talent Search

Two local high school students have been named finalists for this year's Regenron Science Talent Search.
Lucy Zha attends The Wheatley School in Old Westbury. Zha studied the combined potential of plant-based chemicals on cells that can cause childhood cancers, as well as their effects on hypothalamic cells.
The other finalist, Justin Shen, goes to Jericho High School.
Shen researched how an amino acid found in green tea reduced the toxicity of a pollutant found in drinking water.
Justin and Lucy will compete against 38 other high school seniors in March to win up to $250,000.
