Two cars owned by the same person went up in flames early Sunday morning outside of a Babylon home.
The fires outside of the West Main Street home were captured on video. Huge flames are seen erupting out of the vehicles as firefighters work to douse the fires.
One of the vehicles was parked in the street, while the other was parked in the home's driveway.
No one was injured, but residents on the block were shaken by the incident.
"I heard the explosions, which my son-in-law said were probably the tires exploding," says neighbor Maureen Salamone. "It was scary."
Both vehicles were completely destroyed. Charred marks could be seen on the home's driveway and in the street hours later.
The homeowner briefly spoke with News 12 Long Island off-camera. He says he just moved to Babylon five months ago from Nassau County, and added that he doesn't understand why someone would do this.
Police say they are still investigating the cause of the fires. They have not officially ruled the case an act of arson at this time.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
