Suffolk Police say 147 crashes have been reported from midnight to 11 a.m. mostly due to the weather conditions.
Up to 9 inches of snow fell in some spots of Suffolk County, with lesser amounts in Nassau County.
News 12 Long Island's Erin Colton was in Mobile 12 checking out the roads this morning.
Police say there were many spinouts and accidents on Sunrise Highway during the height of the storm.
According to police, one person was killed along Sunrise Highway at Hospital Road after their vehicle overturned around 8:25 a.m.
