4h agoThe Village of Hempstead hosted its 139th annual Memorial Day Parade on Sunday afternoon.
Marchers in the parade began at Legion Square and headed to Greenfield Cemetery where a ceremony to honor fallen heroes was held at the Civil War Monument.
Organizers say hundreds of people attended the event.
