As the summer season really starts to heat up, what better way to cool off than at a Long Island water park.

Splish Splash in Riverhead is the perfect place to do just that.

The water park is debuting a new ride this summer called 'Bootleggers Run.'

Splish Splash employee Mike Bengston says the new ride is New York's first hydromagnetic water coaster. Bengston explains how the bottom of the boats are made of metal and there are magnets fired by linear induction motors that pull the boats uphill, allowing the ride to feature not only downhill speed, but uphill anticipation.
