A three-car crash in Medford injured 10 people Tuesday afternoon. Police have arrested one of the drivers involved, who they say was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.
According to police, a vehicle heading north on County Road slammed into a car heading west on Woodside Avenue. The first car then hit another car waiting to make a turn onto Woodside Avenue.
Two people were airlifted from the scene, and two others spent the day in serious condition, according to authorities.
One of the cars carried six of the 10 victims. According to police, that car was being driven by a 19-year-old and the five passengers were all under 15 years old. The group was reportedly heading to the movies. Police wouldn't say whether any of the victims were wearing seatbelts.
The road was closed for nine hours after the crash as police investigated the scene.
Police arrested 37-year-old Stephen Catalanatto, who they say was on drugs at the time of the crash.
