Another so-called zombie home was demolished in Central Islip today.
The abandoned house was located on Prospect Street.
Officials say they are doing everything they can to remove the homes from communities.
"Across Long Island we are seeing the homes that have become not just an eye sore, but also posing a significant threat to public safety and causing a financial burden to the resources of the Town of Islip," says Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
The state recently gave out about $3.3 million to Long Island to deal with zombie homes. The Town of Islip received about $340,000 of that money.
