The forecast is all about consistency this week. It will be consistently sunny and dry. A broad area of fair weather will lock us into the delightful weather pattern. The Dome of Delight I like to call it. The only meteorological problem we will keep tabs on is a developing storm off North Carolina.
The storm, according to the National Hurricane Center has a 40 percent chance of becoming a named tropical system within the next 7 days. Right now, I don't see this storm bringing rain to the area. there might be clouds along the coast from time to time, while the majority of the state is mainly sunny. The issue will be persistent winds from the northeast. This will allow ocean water to be pushed back at the coastline and into back bays. During times of high tide minor to moderate flooding will occur. The other issue, one the shoreline can't afford at the moment is beach erosion. The storm will strengthen and the winds will pick up. That will create very large waves to batter the beaches again.
For tonight our skies will be clear. The wind will be breezy, and the air will cool off quickly. Nighttime lows will be ini the upper 30s and low 40s.
Tuesday's forecast is sunny, breezy and dry. Afternoon highs will rebound back to the mid to upper 60s, which is normal for this time of year.
Wednesday morning looks quite chilly with many neighborhoods, especially in the northwest corner of the state once again at or below the freezing mark.
