Young cancer survivors and their siblings enjoyed a day of summer fun at Sunrise Day Camp in Wyandanch.
"I got to send time with counselors and my friends," says 9-year-old Reese Pascarella, of Dix Hills.
Organizers say the camp's mission is to bring back the joys of childhood to young cancer survivors, their siblings and their families.
Maddy Lewinger, 18, and her twin brother are both cancer survivors.
They have been coming to Sunrise Day Camp since they were in kindergarten.
"Sunrise is truly the most rewarding part of my life as a child cancer survivor," added Lewinger, of Garden City. Sunrise Day Camp has 13 locations across the country.
