Police say a Yaphank man was arrested Sunday for allegedly killing his girlfriend.
They say 59-year-old Willie Hart faces second-degree murder charges for the death of Candice Woodruff.
According to police, she was pronounced dead at the hospital in May after someone called 911 to tell police she wasn't breathing at the Shore Motor Inn in Patchogue.
Police say she died by suffocation.
Hart surrendered Sunday morning. He is set to face a judge on Monday.
