WWII veteran from Wantagh honored for his military and community service

The county Legislature recognized Murray Steinberg, who just turned 99, at a ceremony held at the Congregation Ohav Sholom in Merrick.

A World War II veteran from Wantagh was honored in Nassau County Thursday.
The county Legislature recognized Murray Steinberg, who just turned 99, at a ceremony held at the Congregation Ohav Sholom in Merrick.
"Murray, you are a tremendous and shining example of not only exemplary military service, but your service after your time in our community, and it's an honor for all of us to have the opportunity to be here," said Legislator Steven Rhoads.
Murray was also presented with a citation in recognition of his service.
