A Roosevelt teen who spent 100 days in jail for a crime he says he didn?t commit is suing Nassau County.Raheem Crews was arrested for a knife-point robbery in Roosevelt on April 26 of last year. Crews?s attorney, Arshad Majid, says he told prosecutors that his client could prove he was with his family when the crime took place. Prosecutors then told Majid they looked into the robbery and concluded it didn?t take place on the day they originally thought. However, on the new date, Crews happened to be in the county jail for what his attorney calls an erroneous warrant.Instead of dropping the charges, the district attorney?s office continued to prosecute. Crews's attorney has filed a $10 million lawsuit against the county. Among his claims is that prosecutors ignored evidence showing his client couldn't possibly have committed the crime -- while he sat in the county jail for more than four months.Officials for the county say they can't comment on the pending lawsuit.
