A World War II veteran celebrated his 100th birthday on Tuesday in Woodbury.
Walter Henry Crayne's family tells News 12 he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in North Africa during the war. Later on in life, he went on to sell real estate.
Crayne tells News 12 he attributes his longevity to good luck and good genes.
"I've been active all my life since my early teens," Crayne says. "People want to know what kind of food I eat, the first thing I tell them is very little meat."
The new centenarian also tells News 12 he goes out to eat with his friends who are also veterans at least once a month
