Work is underway to restore a historic Nassau County estate.
Interior and exterior work is taking place at the Westbury House and Thatched Cottage at Old Westbury Gardens.
The roofs of both buildings will be replaced.
Officials say they were able to get slate from the same mine in England used for the original roof more than 100 years ago.
And nearly three acres of live water reeds imported from Turkey will be used by a master thatcher to restore the roof of the cottage.
