Slow Down! That is the message from one woman who saw a family of birds get mowed down in Suffolk County.
Coleen DeLorenzo says she saw a family of geese get killed while on her way to work.
It happened on Veterans Highway in Islandia on Thursday.
Four of the babies survived, but the other two and two adults did not.
DeLorenzo says every other car slowed down after she got out and waved down drivers to alert them to the family of geese - - but one plowed into them.
She then frantically ran to save the remaining ones, putting them into her car and taking them to the Sweetbriar Nature Center.
They have now been introduced to new parents that will take them under their wing.
