A Brentwood woman delivered her baby on the Long Island Expressway while on the way to the hospital.
Jessica Ramos, 27, was with her brother-in-law heading to the hospital around 7 p.m. Thursday when her water broke.
Her brother-in-law pulled over along the LIE at exit 58 to help her.
Highway Patrol Officer Joseph Goss was the first to arrive and helped Ramos prepare for labor.
With the help of EMTs from the Ronkonkoma Ambulance Company and Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance, she was placed in an ambulance where baby Noah was born.
Both Ramos and the newborn are doing fine.
