Police are searching for a man who attacked a homeowner in front of her 6-year-old son during a Uniondale home invasion.
According to police, a man broke a window on the back door of the Berkley Street house Tuesday evening. The homeowner, a 31-year-old woman, confronted the suspect and was struck in the arm with a bat.
Police say the man grabbed the woman?s purse and her son?s backpack before running out. Police say they found the bat and the backpack near the home.
The woman was not seriously injured, but sought medical attention from her own doctor.
