The biggest story with the recent bout of wintry weather is how the snow and freezing rain are affecting the roads on Long Island today. 
News 12 Long Island's Erin Colton is in Syosset where drivers are taking it slow on the icy roads.
The North Shore of Nassau County seemed to get hit the hardest with the ice storm, leaving behind a slushy mess.
News 12 Long Island Meteorologist Rich Hoffman says the a wintry mix of ice pellets, freezing rain and rain will continue through the evening.
