An energy company is proposing a new plan Friday to bring much needed power to Long Island.
Winergy is looking to install three wind turbines off Plum Island, which President Dennis Quaranta says will only be step one of the company?s plan. Quaranta says step two would be 200 windmills, 12 to 20 miles from shore, located somewhere in the northeast.
Some residents say they fear a windmill farm off Long Island will be an eyesore. Others say they like the idea of using an alternate source to generate power.
