WIND ALERT: Cold and windy with highs near 32 for Brooklyn

Here’s what you need to know:
  • A WIND ADVISORY is in effect through 10 p.m. tonight. Gusts up to 50 mph are possible.
  • It's bitterly cold with wind chills between 8-11 degrees, despite the actual air temperature being in the low 20s.
  • Today will be mostly sunny with freezing temperatures and harsh winds. Winds will be stronger this afternoon with gusts up to 50 mph. Highs are in the low 30s. Wind chills stuck in the teens and low 20s.
  • We finally catch a break from the nonstop bitter cold on Friday. Highs climb to the upper 30s with gusts up to 25 mph.
  • Light snow arrives late Friday into Saturday morning. This will be a weaker storm with minimal impacts, very similar to Monday. Some slick spots are expected on any untreated roads and sidewalks. Less than an inch of snow is possible. The timing is likely after 1 a.m. into 10 a.m. on Saturday. Stay tuned for more updates.
